About this resource:
Girls not Brides is a global partnership committed to ending child marriage and enabling girls to fulfil their potential. Child marriage is any formal marriage or informal union where one or both parties are under 18 years of age. Child marriage is a complex and global issue that cuts across countries, cultures, religions and ethnicities, and each year 15 million girls are married before the age of 18.
Girls not Brides contains an excellent and easily searchable resource centre (which you can search by geographic region and by relevant regional legal framework) containing practical and useful resources on child safeguarding, advocacy, coalition building, communications and the media, fundraising and other topics. It also covers the overlap between child marriage and conflict, health, education, poverty and violence against women and girls.
